Fields of Fire Tours

Welcome to Fields of Fire Tours

Welcome to Fields of Fire Tours where we specialize in battlefield tours of significance to Canadians. There is no better way to gain an understanding of the courage and sacrifice of our veterans and war dead than to walk the ground over which they fought and died. Vimy Ridge, Dieppe, Ortona, and the Falaise Gap, all these places are more or less familiar to many Canadians. A deeper understanding is available to anyone who can take the opportunity to join us on one of our adventures.

Small groups in comfortable minivans travel across Europe visiting sites many larger bus tours cannot reach. The trails of Verrieres Ridge, the back roads of Sicily, and the crowded streets of Ortona are all best visited in smaller groups. At Fields of Fire Tours we pride ourselves on individualized service. If you have a relative who was a veteran or died in one of one of Canada's European wars we can follow his path and find his final resting place.

After taking a year off so that I could deploy to Afghanistan with the Canadian Army, Fields of Fire Tours is back for 2012.

Browse our site and look at the success of past tours as well our plans for coming years. In 2012 we are planning trips to the battlefields of the First World War and to Normandy in August for the 70th Anniversary of the Dieppe Raid. In October 2012 we plan a trip to the Niagara Peninsula to tour the battlefields of the war of 1812 in conjunction with the national commemorative activities planned there to mark the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Queenston Heights.

Thank you for taking the time to visit this site and I look forward to future opportunities to visit the Fields of Fire with you,

David Patterson
